
Amanda, a CAP I/Impact certified coach, starts her sixth season with Club Arrowhead this year. She has nine years of volleyball and basketball coaching experience coaching boys and girls ranging in age from 10-18. She attended Ironwood High School where she received numerous academic and athletic awards, participated in a myriad of clubs, and played Varsity volleyball and basketball. Amanda attended Arizona State University and received her degree, magna cum laude, in English Education. She is a certified teacher and an Arizona Bar certified lawyer currently practicing law as a criminal defense attorney. She earned her law degree at the Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’ Connor College of Law while working as a Law Clerk in the area of Education Law for Calderón Law Offices. Additionally Amanda is an adjunct professor of English at Glendale Community College. She is an avid volunteer and since high school has spent an average of 300 hours per year volunteering her time with organizations that provide legal assistance and academic assistance to the homeless, victims of domestic violence, juveniles, minorities, and other groups in need. Indicative of her extensive service to the community and her exceptional academic accomplishments, Amanda is the recipient of a number of scholarships and awards including the Peoria Unified School District Volunteer of the Year, The ASU President’s Scholarship, The Los Abogados Community Service Scholarship, and the ASU College of Law Pro Bono Award. Amanda is a firm believer in Philippians 4:13 and, therefore, sets goals and relentlessly pursues accomplishing them, but never at the cost of her morals or character. She loves traveling, sports (volleyball, basketball, and water skiing), reading, writing, teaching/coaching, spending time with family and friends, and learning. Her coaching philosophy is premised on the quote “go hard, or go home” and she lives her life by the idea that “happiness is a choice, worry is a waste, patience is a necessity, love is a risk, time is a blessing, and life is a road on which we may dance, laugh, cry, sing, and take the detours that lead us to our dreams”.
