Why should I choose Club Arrowhead?
Club Arrowhead Is the finest girls and boys volleyball club in the northwest valley. Club arrowhead is a non-profit organization established in 1995 to develop middle and high school athletes to compete at the regional and national level in Junior Volleyball. Each year several teams have finished in the top 10 of the Arizona Region and traveled onto the Jr. Volleyball Nationals Championships.
Club Arrowhead is dedicated to the young athlete. Our goal is to provide a solid foundation of fundamental skills that will help them not only as an athlete but also as an individual. Our main focus for the younger division is to offer a safe, fun and competitive atmosphere.With the High School age we are gearing athletes towards exposure to college coaches and assisting them in extending their volleyball career.

What credentials do your coaches have?
All our coaches and assistants are IMPACT, CAP I OR CAP II certified. Additionally for everyone's safety all our coaches and assistants are CPR certified as well. Our coaches have been and are the following: collegiate coaches, collegiate players, junior high coaches, high school coaches and officials. CA has the highest number of CAP I and CAP II certified.

How long is the club volleyball season?
The boys' season runs from September until mid December. The girls' Arizona Region season runs from November to mid-May. In some instances, seasons may be extended to the first week of July due to participation in National Championships or Festival.

When and where do you practice?
Practices are determined on gym availability. Most gym facilities are located in schools in the Peoria and Deer Valley School District. Practices are 2-3 times a week from 1½ hours to 3 hours a practice.
*ASC is only used as a temporary facility when PUSD and DVUSD gyms are unavailable due to holiday, spring breaks, and summer time usage.

How many athletes are on a team?
Most teams will not have fewer than ten (10) and we do our best not to exceed twelve (12) players.

In the following divisions Club Arrowhead supports their coaches in coaching to win. All 18, 17, 16 and 15 divisions, 14-1 National, 14-2 Regional, 14-3 Regional, 13-1 National, 13-2 Regional and 12-1 National.
Therefore no play time at tournaments is guaranteed or equal.
The following criteria will be used as a guideline from the club to the coaches along with anything else the coaches feel necessary.
1- Position availability (Such as subbing positions)
2- Practice attendance
3- Individual attitude (IE: coachable , team player etc.)

Athleticism (such as 1st string 2nd string players)
Club Arrowhead believes in giving everyone an opportunity in tournament play as long as each athlete fulfills their obligation to their team in the following team divisions 14-Local, 13-Local, 12-Local. Therefore playing time will be justified by the following criteria for coaches:

3- Individual attitude (IE: coachable , team player etc.)

What is the difference between Open, Championship & Club Division?
The Az Region as 3 playing divisions.
Open Division: is a higher strategic more competitive division for high school age. Club Arrowhead teams that will participate in this division are; 18-1National, 17-1 National, 16-1 National & 15-1 National.
Open teams have 4-5 tournaments in the Az Region season allowing those teams more "out of state" tournaments.
Championship Division: is designed for the competitive divisions from 13-18. Club Arrowhead teams that will participate in this division are 18-Regional, 17-Regional, 16-Regional, 15-Regional, 14-National & Regional, 13-National. Teams have 7 tournaments in the season providing those teams with more "in" state tournament play.
Club Division: is designed for teams that are looking for more competitive play than YMCA or City League teams.It is a great introduction to club volleyball. Teams have 7 tournaments in the season providing those teams with more "in" state tournament play.Club Arrowhead teams that will participate in this division are 16-Local, 15-Local, 14-Local, 13-Regional & Local, and all 12's teams.
*Per coaches & directors evaluation the placement of these teams are subject to change after tryouts.

When and where are tournaments?
Tournaments are held on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.for morning play and/or 2:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. for afternoon play. All Arizona Region tournaments are held in Arizona. Some may be as far south as Tucson or as far north as Flagstaff. The Arizona Region will notify us when and where specific teams will play. Due to gym availability and cancellations, we may not be notified until the week of play. Changes can occur as late as the night before a given tournament. Always check with your coach and online for changes and updates.

Can I go to the out of state tournaments with my child?
Yes! We encourage parental support at all tournaments. Parents are responsible for their own travel arrangements, accommodations and fees. All athletes will travel as a team and stay together as a team. More information will follow at parent meeting regarding travel itineraries.

What do my start-up fees and monthly payments go towards?
Club Arrowhead Inc. is a non-profit organization. Start up fees cover Az Region membership, insurance coverage, uniforms, Arizona Region tournament fees and Club Arrowhead membership fees, coaches memberships and credentials. Monthly fees cover gym fees, club expenses, monthly coaches pay.

Can my athlete be sponsored?
Yes, sponsorships are welcome. Athletes are responsible for providing their own sponsor. They can apply them either towards a team or an individual.

Do you have fundraising opportunities for my athlete to help pay for the fees?
Yes, we have great fundraising opportunities. We offer 3-4 club organized fund-raisers each season. Team parents are welcome to organize additional fundraiser for their teams (i.e. garage sales, car wash etc) if they desire. Many Club Arrowhead athletes have paid for their entire out of state tournaments with our fundraiser. We hold one mandatory raffle fundraiser per season.

When are payments due?
Payments are due on the first of every month. If postmarked after the 7th a $20.00 late fee will apply.

Who do I talk to if a concern arises with my child or on my child's team?
If a concern arises with your coach, please make an appointment at an appropriate time, which you, your player and the coach can discuss your concerns.
